Dian Hu is like a slambient cacosymphony, but also
somewhat melodic. On this CD, we explore sound for its own sake with a mental
reference to the imagination of an Electric Tiger loose in the vastness of
China. This has been That Song, That Other Song and That Other Song's Brother
to us for several months now. Woden Thoth provides the electric basses,
electric mandolin and backwards poison guitar; Red Eyed Coyote supplies
thematic input on electric guitars; Yahyah trommels out electronic percussion
and keyboards as the Electric Tiger dreams about prowling around pagodas,
stalking pandas and villagers, energizing things like porcelainware and texts.
Electric Tiger extends special thanks Hai Liu for
"dian hu" translation and Chinese handwriting.
Note: The source photo of
the sleeping tiger was provided by nature photographer Curt N. Sayers; the
cover design, night sky photos and phototweaking by JBW.
